Furnace or Heat Pump Not Keeping Up

A heating system that’s not keeping up shows itself in a handful of ways: no heat at all, short cycling, rooms that never reach the thermostat setting, unusual noises, or a pilot light that won’t stay lit. Each of those traces back to a specific, diagnosable cause — ignition system, heat exchanger, blower motor, ductwork, or electrical controls.

Every repair starts with a full diagnostic: filter condition, electrical connections, burners and ignition, plenum and ductwork, static pressure, and — on gas systems — a check for natural gas, propane, and carbon monoxide leaks. On heat pumps we also check pressures, drains, and emergency heat operation. You get a clear estimate before any repair starts.

Why is one room always colder than the rest of the house?

Uneven heating is usually a ductwork or airflow-balance issue rather than a failing unit — we’ll check static pressure and duct runs, not just the furnace itself, to find the actual cause.
